I got started with running in high school because I was trying to lose weight stay in shape and get ready for basic military training (BMT). Since then, my love of running has grown. I have run a handful of 5k’s, 8k’s, 10k’s, and have 4 1/2 marathons under my belt. My ultimate goal is to run the Chicago Marathon before I turn 30 (edited to add: COMPLETED! BOOM!).
That leaves me with 2.5 years.
Besides working out, I enjoy cooking..and eating :-) Last Fall, a doctor told me that I don’t have IBS, but instead had a sensitivity to gluten and dairy…two of my favorite things. After that news, I adjusted my eating habits and have ventured outside of my cooking comfort zone. I now follow a mostly gluten-free diet and dairy free diet. My stomach’s feeling a lot better these days and I can rarely taste a difference in gluten-free foods.
